Temptation Island is one of those reality TV shows that is not simply a guilty pleasure but is borderline irresponsible. Don’t marriages get tested enough as it is without husbands, wives, and individuals outside of the union testing it on purpose? In my opinion, it is a foolish risk. Of course, some will say that if a spouse can’t even resist the simplest, most contrived temptation that should in turn be the most obvious and easiest to avoid, how much does that person really deserve to be in a committed relationship in the first place? Perhaps the waffling spouse is doing his or her partner a disservice by hanging around in a relationship that he or she is not fully committed to, which will subsequently be stagnated and cause both parties to feel unfulfilled.
