Is Dancing Going Full Circle?
October 4, 2008 on 5:11 pm | By admin | In ArtsWhat goes around comes around. We’ve seen it with music recently with sounds such as the Scissor Sisters and Clavin Harris with disco influenced sounds. You see it with fashion every few years.
And now dance looks like it’s going back to past eras as well. There have been many music videos recently where the dancing has been recreations of dance fads of the past.
Whether it’s Greased Lightning or any of the other fad dances that were relatively short lived. But the Grease one does have some longevity it has to be said.
Hey there was even a show on ITV about the nation’s favourite dances the other day. Great to see Night Fever getting a run in the spotlight again.
The Same But Different
September 27, 2008 on 7:18 am | By admin | In ArtsI live in a sorority house, and I have ten sisters. One weekend day we decided to go together and get matching tattoos. It was intended to be a bonding experience. Before we left the sorority house, we decided that we would like to get fairy tattoos. We were all planning on having the same tattoo done, but the tattoo artists had a different idea. They suggested that we should choose a basic design, and then they would customize it for us. We all thought it was a great idea. Now, we all have tattoos of fairies, but each tattoo is somewhat unique to the girl wearing it.
Temptation Island
September 23, 2008 on 5:14 am | By admin | In ArtsTemptation Island is one of those reality TV shows that is not simply a guilty pleasure but is borderline irresponsible. Don’t marriages get tested enough as it is without husbands, wives, and individuals outside of the union testing it on purpose? In my opinion, it is a foolish risk. Of course, some will say that if a spouse can’t even resist the simplest, most contrived temptation that should in turn be the most obvious and easiest to avoid, how much does that person really deserve to be in a committed relationship in the first place? Perhaps the waffling spouse is doing his or her partner a disservice by hanging around in a relationship that he or she is not fully committed to, which will subsequently be stagnated and cause both parties to feel unfulfilled.
Tattoo Designs - What and Where?
September 19, 2008 on 11:30 am | By admin | In ArtsDeciding where to place your tattoo is just as important as the tattoo designs you might choose. You should first figure out what type of tattoo you want to get. Think about the kind of person you are. Women and men choose different artwork, and also different places to put the tattoo. You need to be aware that certain parts of the body would be considered bad places to put a tattoo depending on your job. If you are a professional secretary or receptionist for instance, you may want to think about what clients would think. Don’t put a new tattoo on your neck, or the side of your leg. If you think about these things, you will do just fine.
Boaster Custom Embroidery Tips
September 18, 2008 on 5:23 pm | By admin | In ArtsThere are important considerations you have to bear in mind before creating or ordering your own, Boater Custom Embroidery designs. For D-I-Y (Do-it-yourself) people, it is easy to get yourself a hi-tech embroidery machine complete with digitized programs, but the quality of your work will depend on your own artistic instincts and knowledge of specific embroidery techniques. In order to create a high quality embroidery product, there are a few basic, but significant components that you have to watch out for when creating your own embroidery. These include: The Thread: The two main types of embroidery threads are Polyester and Rayon. Though the best looking designs are stitched with Rayon, Polyester is much sturdier than…
When you see me on the street dancing
September 17, 2008 on 8:11 pm | By admin | In ArtsSometimes things just go right in the day and you feel like nothing can stop you. Strolling down the street dancing, with a huge smile on your face, birds singing in your ear and a perfect blue sky.
In fact on days like this I think I can do anything. Well anything except perhaps fly.
I was wondering everyone must have enjoyed days like this. And if every day was like this, would the world be perfect? How would it start? Is it actually possible for everyone to have the perfect day on the same day?
Interesting thought. Just thought I’d share it with you, perhaps it can spark a chain of events where there can be one of these days sometime soon.
A Look at Embroidery Sewing Machines
September 15, 2008 on 11:27 am | By admin | In ArtsWith the rapid advancement in technology for electric sewing machines a machine for every type of stitch was being born. It took several tries, however, to come up with a machine that could handle the task of Artichoke Needlework Embroidery. Thomas Stone and James Henderson were granted a French patent in 1804 for “”a machine that emulated hand sewing.”" That same year a patent was granted to Scott John Duncan for an “”embroidery machine with multiple needles.”" The machines of all three men were unsuccessful and never came to being. It wasn’t until 1860, that Isaak Groebli combined previous hand looming techniques with existing sewing machine technology to create the first embroidery sewing machine. The technology advanced greatly in 1911 when…
Looking for a good radio station that plays Top Country Music
September 14, 2008 on 5:14 am | By admin | In ArtsSome of what country radio stations play just is not what I want to hear. I want to hear the top country music of today and the recent past, 1990 onward. This is the music I grew up with and I miss it every now and then. So I would like to know some radio stations, online or traditional, which play the top country music stars. If you need some examples, I am talking about Clint Black, Alan Jackson, George Strait, Books and Dunn, Reba McIntire, etc. If you know of any just leave me a comment, thanks in advance.
