No Cars Allowed

July 17, 2009 on 7:55 pm | By admin | In Autos

When I was a kid, my parents decided that they wanted to take my brothers and I up to Mackinac Island to ride our bikes around the island.  I loved riding my bike, and the thought of being able to ride around all day long, along the lake shore, really got me excited.  We loaded our bikes onto the hitch bike rack that my dad had.  And when we got to the ferry to go over to the island, I started wondering about how people manage to get around on their bikes in the winter.  I could just imagine a bike rack mounted on the side of a sleigh.

VW Polo

July 13, 2009 on 9:55 pm | By admin | In Autos

The brand new VW Polo is a fantastic machine which really has pushed the boundaries of what is possible in a small hatchback. I bought one as it seemed to me to be the best value for money in the increasingly saturated family hatchback market.

I have always admired Volkswagen Polo owners and have wanted to own a VW Polo ever since I was a child. I visited Alan Day VW to buy my Polo and found their selection to be excellent and extremely reasonably priced.

If you are looking for a VW Polo I suggest you try Alan Day VW.

Polaris RZR Razor Lift Kit

July 9, 2009 on 5:50 am | By admin | In Autos

Introducing the new Racer Tech 2″ RZR Lift Kit. It was brought to our attention that nearly all of the Polaris Razor suspension lift kits on the market has been causing serious CV and boot damage in short time. Racer Tech is proud to present the first lift kit that won’t cause CV issues for the life of your RZR. We achieve this by relocating the upper shock mounts and not the lowers. This method improves the shock angles which require a lower spring rate to hold the vehicle at ride height. When retaining the stock springs however, the ride height is raised. This kit will allow you to back the “clickers” on your shocks down and still have the desired height needed for that additional ground clearance. So you get two things with this kit. A taller ride height PLUS an improved ride! Actual height gains will vary but expect approximately 1.5” rear lift and 2” front. We’ve found our best performance with these machines by setting the fronts 0.5-1” taller. Another improvement we make with this kit is correcting the front sway bar travel. This kit is all bolt-on and the installation can be completed in less than one and a half ours. To read more on Polaris RZR Razor Lift Kit

Classic Car And Truck Part -:- For A Better Understanding Of Car Parts

June 30, 2009 on 5:12 am | By admin | In Autos

The audio system in your car can be flashy or simple, depending on what you are looking for. Old models are simply equipped with an AM/FM radio system and a cassette player. Today, CDs and MP3s are the rave. Speakers previously used by the old radio and cassette player are still employable with today’s new systems. Due to the nature of their manufacture, speakers are usable at all times and as long as they are still in good working order, CD and MP3 units can be connected to them in any car audio system.

My next post will be about classic car and truck part.

What Is Happening With Aptera?

June 13, 2009 on 5:32 am | By admin | In Autos

I have heard a lot about the new Aptera car that was due to be coming out in the next few months. The only problem is that I seem to be hearing about delays and further delays and then hear ,that it is on course. What is happening? Is it on course or not? I think that one of the main problems is that the company doesn’t seem to be giving any release dates or just where the car is in the development stage. If the company is poor on communication now, it worries me what they would be like if I had a problem with the car in the future.

Car inspection before getting Insurance

June 6, 2009 on 5:32 am | By admin | In Autos

I recently called a company for a quote.  What surprised me was that they wanted to come inspect my car before I could purchase a Car Insurance policy.  Now that they explained why, it makes complete sense why they need to do that.  Because they would be insuring me, they just want to see what condition my car is in first.  The company does not want to take the risk that there was something wrong with my car before and try to file a claim for them to fix it later.  Once they checked my car over, they got me a quote very quickly and it actually saved me quite a bit of money.

Getting My 07 Trailblazer Ready for Inspection

May 31, 2009 on 5:32 am | By admin | In Autos

My sticker is about to expire, so I need to get my car all fixed up and ready to be inspected. It wouldn’t pass right now probably because there are a few things wrong with it. I know I need to get a 07 Trailblazer tail light since mine is broken, though it does still light up. I am trying to think whether there is anything else wrong with it that I need to take care of, but that is what is coming to mind. I have been putting off fixing it since I have been a bit short of cash lately.

Cool Honda Jazz

May 6, 2009 on 6:01 am | By admin | In Autos

The Honda Jazz has effortlessly cemented itself as one of the most popular supermini cars available on the British market and has stolen significant market-share from the popular manufacturers such as Ford and Vauxhall. The Honda Jazz has become so popular for two main reasons; firstly it performs better than most superminis and secondly, it is a lot cheaper than the majority too.

I would recommend the Honda Jazz to anyone in the market for an excellent supermini at an unbeatable price. I bought mine from Chiswick Honda and found their customer service to be unparalleled. If I was you I would call them today.

Excess Motor Insurance

May 4, 2009 on 5:51 am | By admin | In Autos

Having just purchased my new motor insurance premium I wanted to warn people about the perils of buying cheap car insurance; if you go for the cheapest you’re not necessarily getting the best deal. Last year I had my car stolen and I’d bought my car insurance cheaply from a supermarket, when it came to making a claim I was quite shocked at the policy excess that I had to pay, it was more than £600! This meant that I didn’t have the money to buy a car that was as good as the one I’d had stolen. This year I’ve gone for quality over price, and I’m very pleased with the final schedule, it covers all the necessities and the excess is very low because the company has a policy of not offering ridiculous excess for a cheap rate.

Is the best subcompact car a Honda Fit?

May 3, 2009 on 4:11 pm | By admin | In Autos

Honda has produced a great name for themselves with producing quality cars that are very reliable. Their claim to fame has been using small fuel efficient, yet powerful four cylinder engines. They then entered the subcompact car segment with their Honda Fit offering. The Honda Fit for many is the best subcompact car, as is seen by the many followers on FitFreak forums. In the pre-2009 models, it offers a 1.5 Litre engine paired with 5 speed automatic or manual transmissions. The newer models have gained some more horsepower and a more rigid body. The fit is a very peppy car that is a blast to drive in the winding roads. Is it your favorite? That will come down to personal choice.

What is the Best GPS for a Car and Where Can I Find It?

May 3, 2009 on 2:10 pm | By admin | In Autos

Many people are constantly searching for the best gps for a car.  While there are a number of terrific models available, Consumer Reports has a couple that own the top spots in terms of reliability, features, and price.  This is one piece of electronics where you probably don’t want the lowest priced model available.  There are simply too many outstanding GPS systems available that won’t cost you an arm and a leg.  The Garmin Nuvi 760 and the Garmin Nuvi 255W both offer a wide variety of features and for less than you might think.  Take a few minutes and see what others have to say about these two models.

How to Get A Cheap Car Insurance Quote

May 2, 2009 on 5:31 am | By admin | In Autos

If you are in the market for a new car insurance policy, you are probably looking for a cheap car insurance quote. But to get the best rates, there are a few things you need to keep in mind. The first thing to do is to start shopping for your car insurance quote before you old policy expires. This can actually save you quite a bit of money. If you forget and let your old policy expire, you will now fall into the undesirable classification called “uninsured”. Uninsured buyers are likely to pay more as much as twenty percent more for car insurance as somebody who has a consistent history of car insurance coverage. It is advisable to start shopping for insurance quotes at least thirty days before your old policy expires. Not only will you avoid the dreaded label of uninsured, but you’ll give yourself time to compare multiple quotes — which is also likely to save money.
