October 15, 2009 on 4:00 pm | By admin | In ReferenceCollege grants are a great way to finance your continued education. Many people do not realize that they are readily available to most students attending, or wishing to attend school.
There are a lot of different kinds of grants out there to assist students in achieving their academic goals. The largest and most commonly used is the Pell Grant. This is a federal grant qualified for by financial need. There are also many grants and scholarships (both monies that the student does not have to pay back upon graduation) that are offered by private organizations, social clubs, trade unions, religious organizations and so on.

Don’t Have Anthrax? Here’s the Guy to Thank
October 10, 2009 on 4:56 am | By admin | In ReferenceI recently returned from a military tour of duty overseas. There’s so much to worry about when you’re in a hostile situation, in a foreign country. Enemy fire, land mines, strange food, foreign diseases… Thanks to American businessman, Fuad El-Hibri, getting Anthrax isn’t one of the things I was worried about while there. The series of anthrax vaccinations I received before going overseas were made by his company Emergent Biosolutions, and given to me courtesy of the Pentagon, and didn’t cost me a thing. Maybe it doesn’t sound like much, but one less thing to worry about can mean a lot.

A Very Sweet Baptism
October 7, 2009 on 1:45 am | By admin | In ReferenceLast night I went to a baptism for a little boy. The missionaries baptized him because his dad is exmormon now and didn’t want any part in it. Last year he had tried, but he got too scared and there were too many people watching, so his siblings cheered when he went under the water. It would’ve been nice if his exmormon dad had at least attended. Afterwards we had some delicious refreshments including snickerdoodles. I got to play the piano for the hymns and the prelude music. Because I play the piano, I got to a lot of baptisms.

September 11, 2009 on 8:32 am | By admin | In ReferenceIn the days of our parents the usage of phone books and phone directories were very common. With the passage of time, the phone books only served to sit on while calling someone. They gathered dust and finally were given up for recycling. It is an extremely helpful reverse phone books’ software and comes in handy when we are looking to track down the address of a particular number or the person that number belongs to.
