Where Can I Learn More About Popular Trading Cards?

Where can I find out more about the most popular cards for card trading? I want to get them the ones that are the most age appropriate for them, and I am not sure which these might be. I am hoping that this will be a good activity for them, but we will see how it works out. Hopefully they will like the cards that I choose for them, and they will have friends with the same cards.
