There are a lot of different kinds of grants out there to assist students in achieving their academic goals. The largest and most commonly used is the Pell Grant. This is a federal grant qualified for by financial need. There are also many grants and scholarships (both monies that the student does not have to pay back upon graduation) that are offered by private organizations, social clubs, trade unions, religious organizations and so on.
